Assessing the Role of the SHARED GREEN DEAL Experiments in Achieving Zero Pollution Goals

Report

This report synthesizes the key findings from a secondary analysis of the Horizon Europe SHARED GREEN DEAL project, examining how the concept of Zero Pollution intersects with the insights and activities of six thematic social experiment streams.

Findings show that local participation is crucial for addressing pollution across multiple domains — including air, water, soil, noise, and material waste.

However, significant barriers remain. Insufficient access to data, funding, and institutional support hindered their capacity to scale or influence decision-making.

The report underscores the importance of multi-level coordination. Supporting social-ecological innovations that combine technological solutions with community empowerment will be key to achieving systemic change in regards to zero pollution.
