Ripple Effects Toolkit: How local actors can drive change from the ‘in-between’

Workshop Series
We invite you to co-create, test, and experiment with the Ripple Effects Toolkit, which builds on our experience of working in the space between individual action and wider institutional change.
We are offering online workshops (in several European languages, targeted to North, South, East, and West of Europe) in March and April 2026, taking place Tuesdays from 11:00–12:30 CET.
Objective of the workshop:
Learn first-hand, test, and contribute to the Ripple Effects Toolkit.
This toolkit helps community organisations and public actors work in the spaces where local action connects individuals and systems (what we call the meso in research). It shows why change can be facilitated when community action works in these areas, rather than focusing only on individual behaviour (the micro) or on large-scale systems (the macro) alone.
Through the SHARED GREEN DEAL project, we found that lasting change often grows from the connections that emerge where people, organisations, and wider structures meet. When community action deliberately works in the ‘in-between’, it can create ripple effects that help connect everyday practices with organisational and policy change.
Who can participate?
- Community organisations and initiatives (e.g NGOs, local businesses) working on sustainability and social innovation
- Local and regional authorities (e.g. municipalities) engaging with communities, pilots, or participatory processes
- Practitioners and facilitators involved in experimentation, co-creation, or living lab–type approaches
- Educators, intermediaries, and community workers supporting collective learning and change
- Researchers and project partners working closely with practice and policy
Participants will receive:
- A certificate of participation in this capacity-building initiative (upon request)
- Early and privileged access to the final Ripple Effects Toolkit and its training materials (in English)
